About Verve - Knowledge & Skills

Verve – Knowledge & Skills, is the industry training advisory board (ITAB) for the cultural and recreation industries in Victoria, Australia. Our industries include the performing arts, sport, museums and libraries, outdoor recreation, fitness, multimedia, design, and music, among others.

Verve is a not-for-profit, semi-government funded organisation. We conduct ongoing research and engage in projects, events and activities that improve knowledge and encourage innovation in our industries.

Vision

To continue to be recognised as a key point of exchange between industry, training providers and government on current and future skills needs for the cultural and recreation sectors.

To use our knowledge to support the growth of the cultural and recreation industries so that we collectively benefit from an innovative and well society.

Mission

Verve’s mission is to work with industry, government, training providers and the community to ensure skills and knowledge requirements of the sectors are being met. We achieve this by:

  • Engaging in projects and activities and developing products and services in response to identified industry needs and anticipated trends

  • Advocacy – promoting the value of training and development in the sectors to government, industry and the public

  • Research and development on current and future industry trends and skills needs.

  • Informing our industries on developments within the Vocational Education and Training (VET)sector.
