Role of an ITAB

Verve – Knowledge & Skills is the industry training advisory body(ITAB) for the cultural and recreation industries in Victoria. As an ITAB, we endeavor to:

Verve - Knowledge and Skills is the Industry Training Advisory Body (ITAB) for the Arts and Culture industries.

To ensure there is strong industry leadership of the training system, the Victorian Government funds a network of 16 ITABs which are experts on training needs and delivery in their particular industries.

ITABs provide authoritative, independent information on training needs, and promote skills development and take-up of training by businesses in their industries. The Skills Victoria website has further details about the ITAB network and its role in the Victorian training system.

Verve - Knowledge and Skills Undertakes the following activites:

  • Engage and advise on skills development needs of Victoria's arts, culture, sport and recreation industries' workforce
  • Promote the integration of skill development into industry workforce development strategies
  • Advance partnerships connecting industry and the learning community
  • Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of high quality, nationally recognised training products and services
