Destination Libraries: School Based Apprenticeships

Verve, in conjunction with the School Library Association of Victoria (SLAV), Swinburne University of Technology TAFE Division and Jobs Plus Apprenticeships Services recently developed a School Based Libraries Apprenticeship that will see secondary school students gain a Certificate III in Library/Information Services whilst receiving credits towards their VCAL or VCE score.

The program would allow School Libraries to employ motivated students on a part-time basis and encourage new entrants into an industry that is currently experiencing skills shortages.
